The Cooperation Agreement
The Cooperation Agreement of June 9, 1986 is an agreement made between the Central
Organizations, the Danish Employers´ Confedereation(DA) and the Danish Confederation of
Trade Unions(LO).
The Agreement sets up the framework for cooperation between management and employeees at
all levels in all enterprises within the DA/LO-area.
In enterprises with 35 employees or more, day-to-day cooperation shall be promoted and
observed by a cooperation committee composed of representatives of management and
employees.
The first Cooperation Agreement was made between the Central Organizations in 1947 and has
been revised a few times since.
The present agreement is the Cooperation Agreement of June 9, 1986 was in 1991 supplied
with the Agreement on Equal Treatment (women and men)- Supplement to the Cooperation
Agreement, which again in 1999 was improved to include also matters relating to equality
between native Danish employees and employees having different ethnic backgrounds.
